Open and convert WebP images
Pictures saved from websites are often WebP. SeeAnyFile opens them straight away, animated ones included, and turns them into JPG or PNG in one step, or turns your photos into small WebP files for a website.
How to open it, step by step
- Install SeeAnyFile. It is free for Windows 10 and 11 and needs no account.
- Double-click the WebP file or drag it onto the window. No codec or extension is needed.
- Press Ctrl+E (Save as new file) and choose JPG or PNG.
- To convert a whole folder, press Ctrl+B, pick a format and, if you like, a size or a file-size limit.

Good to know
- JPEG cannot store transparency. When a WebP has transparent areas, SeeAnyFile warns you before saving as JPG.
- The original WebP is never overwritten; every conversion is a new file.

Why do pictures I save from the web turn out to be WebP?
Websites send WebP because it is smaller than JPEG or PNG at the same quality. Your browser saves what it was sent.
How do I convert WebP to JPG?
Open it in SeeAnyFile, press Ctrl+E, choose JPG and save. For many files, use Convert files (Ctrl+B).
