Open PSD files without Photoshop
SeeAnyFile shows the flattened picture Photoshop stores inside every PSD, the same one other viewers show, and saves it as PNG or JPG. No Photoshop, no subscription.
How to open it, step by step
- Install SeeAnyFile. It is free for Windows 10 and 11 and needs no account.
- Double-click the PSD or drag it onto the window.
- Press Ctrl+E and choose PNG to keep transparency, or JPG for a smaller file.
- For a folder of PSDs, press Ctrl+B and convert them all at once.
What you can do with it
- Browse a folder of PSD files with thumbnails.
- See CMYK documents in their true colours, converted through their colour profile.
- Send a client a PNG or JPG preview without opening Photoshop.
- Crop, resize and add a watermark to the saved copy.
Good to know
- SeeAnyFile shows the composite image; layers stay in the file untouched and are not edited.
- PSB (Photoshop’s large document format) is recognised by name but not opened yet.
Questions
Can I edit the layers?
No. SeeAnyFile is a viewer: it shows the flattened picture and saves copies of it. The layers are left exactly as they are.
Will the colours look right?
Yes. RGB and CMYK documents are converted through their embedded colour profile before they are shown.
Does saving as PNG change the PSD?
No. Every save writes a new file; the PSD is never overwritten.
