Join several videos into one

Dashcam clips, a phone video saved in parts, a lecture recorded in pieces? SeeAnyFile joins them end to end in the order you choose, without re-encoding, so it takes seconds rather than minutes and nothing loses quality.

How to do it, step by step

  1. Open a folder of videos in SeeAnyFile.
  2. Choose two or more videos in the filmstrip (Ctrl+click or Shift+click).
  3. Choose Join videos on the video toolbar or in the file menu, or press Ctrl+K and type “join”.
  4. Put them in order: drag a row, or press Alt+Up and Alt+Down. A file that does not match the others is named, with what differs.
  5. Press Join and save. The new file, “name (joined).mp4”, is saved beside the first video; the originals stay as they are.

What you can do with it

  • Up to 100 clips at once, in MP4, MOV, M4V or WebM.
  • Nothing is re-encoded, so picture and sound stay exactly as recorded and it runs at the speed of the disk.
  • The total length and the approximate size are shown before you save.
  • It runs as a job with progress that you can cancel, and the new file appears only when it is complete.

Where your file goes

The videos are joined on your PC. Nothing is uploaded, which matters for the family videos and dashcam footage an online joiner would ask you to send.

Good to know

  • Clips that differ in resolution, frame rate, codec or sound cannot be joined without re-encoding, so SeeAnyFile says which file differs and how instead.
  • To join parts of one video, mark sections in the player and save them joined into one.

Questions

Does joining lower the quality?

No. Nothing is re-encoded: the frames and the sound are copied as they are.

Why is one of my videos refused?

It differs from the others, for example in resolution or frame rate. The list says what differs; remove that file or join it separately.

Are my videos uploaded?

No. They are joined on your computer.
